Education's problem in America is eerily similar to education's problem in Britain...
Meet Bob Conley...and a very funny video that proves how cute kids are. Oh and scroll down to compare the energy policies of Paris Hilton and Nancy Pelosi.
Nancy Pelosi or Paris Hilton's Energy Policy. You tell me which one makes more sense? (Pssst...Pelosi's 3rd in line for the presidency)
I'm on a mini-vacation...yes, again...because I guess my week long getaway for July 4th wasn't enough.
It was very encouraging to see Republicans give speeches on the House floor despite an adjourned session.
The revolt seems to be led by Indiana Congressman Mike Pence (who rocks). In a press conference outside the chamber he said they'd be their "through the break"...in other words, for the next 5 weeks? Sweet.
(I'd imagine Democrats, well Nancy Pelosi, will continue her Soviet-style tactics and keep the cameras out during the entire revolt.)
All House Republicans want is a vote on whether or not we should drill for oil. But the party of the working man, the Democrats refuse to even allow a vote. Yeah, party of the little man, my ass.
According to Republican Leader John Boehner, here is a list of those Congressmen who participated: Members participating in the spontaneous uprising included Reps. Roy Blunt, John Boehner, Michael Burgess, John Campbell, Eric Cantor, Shelly Moore Capito, John Carter, Mike Conaway, John Culberson, Charlie Dent, Jeff Fortenberry, Virginia Foxx, Louie Gohmert, Pete Hoekstra, Duncan Hunter, Thaddeus McCotter, Mike Pence, Tom Price, Ted Poe, Adam Putnam, Bill Sali, John Shadegg, John Shimkus, Tim Walberg, and Lynn Westmoreland.
I don't see Henry Brown on the list of those who participated in this self described "Boston Tea Party." Someone at Politico.com counts Henry Brown as being on the floor of the House for this historic event. Thank you for lending your voice to this just cause Congressman Brown! The only way Congress could come back from recess early is if George Bush compels them to. Uh, dude, do it.

Anyhow, I'm gonna try to laugh at politics tonight...I'm off to see the movie Swing Vote....it'll be my first trip to a movie theatre since I saw ET as a kid. Not really, but when you have 3 kids you rarely if ever get to a movie theatre. We decided to drive to Raleigh, NC just to catch a movie (Mother in law is watching the kids tonight).
Movie Update: "Swing Vote" movie starts out with a left-leaning feel, but overall it is pretty fair and a must see. A good time with biting truth that is totally worth your time and money. -Keith
