It's believed that Phillip DeClemente, the man involved in a police standoff on the Ravenel bridge Thursday, lived at an address off of Highway 41 Near Park West.

When News 2 arrived, there were police officers at the home. They had some small, notebook sized items in their hands. There is no confirmation if the items were used to aid in the investigation or it was actual evidence from the home.

A neighbor of DeClemente tells News 2 that he lived in the home for about six years but seems to have fallen on hard times over the past year.  We're told he sold many of his belongings and kept to himself often.

The bridge was shut down to traffic for over two hours Thursday when DeClemente, in a Lexus SUV, threatened to harm himself. DeClemente attempted to get away from surrounding police by ramming the concrete barriers on the Ravenel Bridge and trying to turn around the SUV several times. He was finally taken into custody after 5:00pm.
