The Tea Party last night was inspiring to say the least. It was awesome to stand shoulder to shoulder with so many fellow Americans to send such an important message to our elected officials. I hope that everyone who attended will not stop but will take this inspiration and act upon it -- make the phone calls, write the letters & editorials. Stand and be silent no more !!

God Bless America -- God Bless Charlestonians!
I was proud to be an American and Charlestonian last night. Thank you, Keith, for your efforts to get the word out about the event and for your comments at the mic. When you showed the picture of your kids and told us that was why you were here -- you hit it right on the head. That's why my family was there. That was why I feel this is so important. I truly hope to be involved in whatever "After the Tea Party" movement gets going. Our country is too precious to be lost to the looters and the haters.

We've just begun!
We have taken our first steps. We need to continue. Keith, many thanks for all you did with last nights TEA Party.
The politicians have to hear us over and over. I want them quaking in their shoes, terrified they will be voted out it they don't listen to the PEOPLE! Most of them should be voted out no matter what. We saw which politicians showed up last night and which ones didn't. Enough said!
Posted By: Hope - Thursday, April 16th 2009 @ 9:26am
Great job tonight Keith!
I was able to attend the TEA Party in Charleston earlier tonight and I am fired up now! Keith, you and the organizers did a great job. I felt that so many voices were heard and people were reminded that they were not alone in their views.
Now the work begins. We must continue to let our elected officials know that we are in charge and they must vote the way WE want, not the way THEY want, or they will all be unemployed shortly.
It was fantastic to see people of all ages and backgrounds coming together peacefully to say enough is enough. You're a patriot Keith. Don't let the "haters" get you down. We love you!

Why do cops get discounts and paramedics and firefighters don't?
Recently my engine crew decided to pick up a fast food meal, and as always there were cop cars out there. We had always seen them there and figured it must be good.....so while in line waiting to order we heard them get a 50% discount. Thinking that the people of this establishment liked all public safety we were kinda happy for once! However when our orders were taken we paid full price. I asked the employees why cops got a discount and we didn't. They said that the cops get one because they protect them while they are in there and make them feel safe! Well...next time your stuff catches fire or you have a heart attack or get trapped in your car.....call a cop and see where that gets ya!!!

Refusal of Government money by Gov. Sanford
I would just like to support the Governor of South Carolina in his refusal to accept the money from Nancy Pelosi's spending bill. What no-one is saying is that by accepting this money, you are also accepting the strings attached to this money. Just look at the AIG fiasco!!! When you accept a handout, are you not then obligated to that entity and forced to do things their way? Yes, and the fact that our local Congress can now override the Governor is unconstitutional...Duh!! Come one people....WAKE UP!!!!!!!

Beaver
Interresting story about the Beaver this AM. Having recently moved here from the Pacific Northwest (and having lived 18 yrs in So. Cal before that). Oregon is the most disfunctional state I have ever been thru. Last year, the Oregon DNR authorized the killing of about 50 endangered California Sea Lions because they had taken up residence at the mouth of the river and were feasting on Salmon. Oregon thought it was more important to save the Salmon (not endangered) vs. protect the California Sea Lions (endangered). I think the emphasis should be on California. Anyway - very refreshing to hear the more conservative opinions than my 20 years on the 'left coast'.

We are in big trouble
My view of the big trouble we are in is this: WE ARE IN BIG TROUBLE!!!!!. I am a black American, and I havn't had one swallow of the obama kool-aide. He is a black liberationist, and the American people have no idea of what they have done to this great nation. This guy will rape this nation bare of its monetary resources and redistribute to the victims and crybabys. But what scares me most about this very evil guy, is his opportunity to elect a supreme court judge. Right now its at a balance; 4 conservatives, 4 socialists, and 1 moderate. If the moderate or one of the conservatives leave, then it's over for the America we conservatives once knew and loved. Think about it. Last year, one vote saved us the right to own guns. Just 1 vote.

Chris...
I agree the kids will have problems (the Nazi kids), I just object to a government forcibly removing children from their home, separating them from their parents then refusing to tell them why. One month has passed. I would not be docile if this were me.
As for the 14 kids in Cali, I actually think that mom is more irresponsible. The Nazi parents are either evil or stupid or both.
By comparison, the mom in California has no job, no spouse and 14 kids...she is stupid but likely not evil...however her brand of stupidity may end up being more harmful to her kids than the stupidity of the Nazi parents.
Posted By: Keith Malinak - Thursday, February 5th 2009 @ 2:40pm
Kids in both probably should be removed.
Freedom of speach overload here in my opinion. I don't think they were taken just for their names, have to be more issues than that. My problem is these kids are going to have a lot of problems growing up. You can bet they will be picked on...a lot. Too dangerous to be controversial any more. Of course, they may grow up into wonderful people. Makes me want to change my name to Barrack Pelosi Kennedy-Reid. :) As for the 14 other kids, get ready to foot the bill tax payers. In thr home or removed, Kalifornians will be footing a lot of bills here.

Booing Bush...
The clearest difference between conservatives and liberals was on display in that booing of President Bush at Obama's inauguration. By and large conservatives are respectful people and liberals tend to be mindless drones (as evidenced by how they chant together "Obama! Obama! Obama!, etc and also as evidenced by how they vote... and why they vote the way they do....and why did they vote for Obama???? Most of BO's minions can't answer that question coherently or with any thougth whatsoever...they're followers, not leaders...or perhaps it's just a mind control chip.
Thank you for your kind words....AND GO BRAVES!!!

Booing Bush Video
I was utterly disgusted at the booing that took place on the YouTube video you posted. I know that President Bush was not a perfect President by any stretch of the word, but the way he was treated yesterday was way out of line. I just hope that we are allowed to boo the Messiah, Barack, when he makes his mistakes. Oh wait, that's right, with him I guess we don't need to worry about that. He is perfect, flawless, and has never commited a wrong-going in his life, right? :-) Love listening to you guys in the morning and the fact that you hate the Red Sox as much as I do. Smoltz--what a traitor!!!

What is Freedom?
I asked the question because I for one find it difficult to define. And I'm not proud of that fact.
Can we agree that freedom comes from God, not government?
This may be too simplistic, but I'll give it a shot....
Freedom is the ability of an individual to choose their own destiny through daily decisions that are all valid... until they infringe on someone else's ability to seek that same thing...freedom.
Freedom isn't an arbitrary right gifted by a government but is a right we're all born with. However, in many cases, such as the founding of our beloved nation, individuals are born into a situation that doesn't allow freedom to be exercised fully. In circumstances such as that, you must do what it takes to make freedom a reality....sometimes that requires the use of force in order to claim what is rightfully yours.
In other words, ATP Gun Shop and Range sells "freedom insurance."
Is it any wonder why the world wants to come to America? Is it any wonder why so much of the world is jealous of us?
Are we as free today as America was 10, 20, 50 years ago? If not, what have we lost? Where did we lose it? Are we prepared to reclaim it for our children? And at what point will we feel the need to reclaim it?
I fear that we'll wait around too long to exercise the freedoms we still have access to and by then we may not have the means to salvage freedom, at all.
Ain't that a bucket of joy!
Posted By: Keith Malinak - Wednesday, January 7th 2009 @ 2:15pm
Freedom
Excellent question, Keith! I've been thinking about this since I first heard you ask for definitions this morning.
To me, freedom means having as little government interference in our lives as humanly possible. It is my fear, however, that the opposite will be coming our way in the near future.

Mayor of Smyrna: They made me take the job
Keith,
My opinion is a war with Iraq should have never happened. Bush just wanted some revenge. Now Afganastan is a different story. In that country we shouldn't be worying about colateral damage. We should be carpet bombing that country day in and day out until some one Gives up Osama Bin laden. Of course we make that clear with the Afgans.
But of course a few dozen bombers might drift about 10 to 12 miles into along the Afgan and Pakistan border and have a accidental bombing there.
WE NEED TO PULL OUT OF IRAQ so fast make it a race to not be the last solider there. THAT IS WHERE OUR MONEY (BUDGET) IS. End of story.

Comment on HOA Jerk-Off
This HOA Jerk-off sounds like someone who could be working on the obama campaign. What a ridiculous thing for this guy (I hate even calling him a guy) to do. Commie, socialist, liberal, all the above. I'd hate to be him when the soldier gets back. In the meantime, his neighbors should step up and take care of his "landscaping". Otherwise, this soldier is obviously in the wrong sub-division!!!!
Thanks...It was all Box...We were in a meeting and he came up with the rhyme/tune...he and I came up with the first lyric simultaneously...then he got to leave the meeting and I said "we'll write this thing out after I'm done here!"
