Amazon Set to Launch Unmanned Drone Deliveries 'Within Months'

It looks like the Jetsons era has arrived. Amazon officials have revealed the online marketplace is just "months away" from delivering orders by drone.

"We’ve been hard at work building fully electric drones that can fly up to 15 miles and deliver packages under five pounds to customers in less than 30 minutes," Amazon CEO Jeff Wilke said Wednesday. He added the drone program will be put into effect "within months."

Unveiled Wednesday in Las Vegas, the delivery drones will use computer vision and "machine learning" to avoid running into people or objects, Wilke said.
