CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A death investigation is underway in downtown Charleston, according to the Charleston County coroner.
Live 5 has learned the death of the officer is related to a death investigation at the Embassy Suites on Meeting Street.
The officer was initially attending training in the region, then traveled to Charleston to attend a military graduation for a family member of a friend, according to WSPD Sargent Eric Angle.
The West Sacramento Police Department has posted the following message on their Facebook page:
A spokesperson for West Sacramento PD has told us they believe his death is from natural causes but added Charleston Police are handling an investigation in regards to how he died.
