LIVE 5

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Downtown Charleston saw some streets close early Friday morning because of flooding.

Morris Street from Coming to Rutledge, Coming Street from Line to US17, and parts of the Crosstown all closed starting around 6:45 a.m. and many more started to close not long after.

Traffic crawled during the morning commute into the area with many cars pushing through water which covered roadways. Rutledge Avenue near MUSC and President Street near Moultrie Street in the Hampton Park area both had water at least shin deep.

A flash flood warning was issued for Charleston County just after 7:30 a.m. and is in effect until 11:30 a.m.
