Gloria Williams, the Walterboro woman accused of kidnapping a Jacksonville, Florida infant and raising the girl as her own, has pleaded not guilty.
Williams and her attorney announced the plea during a pre-trial hearing Wednesday in a Jacksonville courtroom. Williams has also waived her right to a speedy trial.
Jacksonville County Sheriff's Office investigators say Williams impersonated a nurse in order to steal now 18-year-old Kamiyah Mobley from a Jacksonville hospital in 1998.

Williams was arrested in Walterboro in January, and extradited to Florida to be tried.

The girl police believe to be Mobley now goes by the name Alexis Manigo. She was in court today for Williams' hearing, and the two exchanged smiles as Williams entered the courtroom, according to multiple reports.
Mobley cried for Williams, the only mother she'd ever known, during her initial bond hearing in Walterboro in January.
Investigators believe Mobley knew, or at least became suspicious that Williams was not her real mother months before the arrest, when she had trouble applying to colleges and jobs because her Social Security card and birth certificates were fraudulent.

Affidavits show that Williams also confided in a friend that she was not Mobley's real mother months before the arrest.
Williams is due back in court for another pretrial hearing May 30.
