At least one eastbound lane of I-26 was closed in the area of Aviation Avenue (Exit 211) for several hours Tuesday after a crash that resulted in a tractor trailer being split in half.
Officers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol were dispatched at around 12:58 p.m. for what they heard was an overturned tractor trailer.
What they found at the scene was a fatal crash and a scene that stretched from I-26, through a row of trees and onto the frontage road.
