BCSO arrest 38 in massive sweep through Cane Bay, Clements Ferry

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office did a "sweep" of the Cane Bay and Clements Ferry areas of Berkeley County, arresting 38 people and confiscating a stolen gun along with more than 40 pounds of marijuana.

BCSO officials said the sweep took place last Thursday and Friday with the help of the Summerville Police Department, SC Probation and Parole, Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement, State Law Enforcement Division, SC Highway Patrol and the SC State Constables.

"This was a team effort and we are very appreciative of our partners coming out to help work with us around the county," said Sheriff Duane Lewis. "We will continue to work hard to help keep the great citizens of Berkeley County safe."
